    Proggy bliss...

This ep really flashbanged me, had never heard of Ugly before Ⅰ just randomly happened upon "Icy Windy Skies" one day.

36 minutes and 9 seconds later Ⅰ had been fully wrenched out of whatever immemorable headstate Ⅰ was in before, lying down on the floor silently screaming at how insanely good that experience was.

Really good, Ⅰ highly recommend just starting at The Wheel and listening in series, it goes from serene harmonising paired with light acoustic guitar to fast technical drums with wailing electrics and touches of synth, stringed instruments, brass instruments, it's a real mix.

    Great/3.

Easily my favourite screaming voice (Justine Jones), hard-hitting and punchy but very melodic. Her control of her voice is impressive.

The percussion and guitars all go immensely hard, the rhythms feel great, highly recommend this album.

If heavier metal, or screaming lyrics in general, is not usually your thing, Ⅰ'd still very much suggest giving this album a try - my favourite track is itself The Warmth of a Dying Sun so if you're not up for a whole album listen Ⅰ'd check that one out. Screamed singing usually puts me off, but it really hits the spot here.

Food for Worms has a number of excellent tracks which stick into my brain nicely. Fingers of Steel being particularly beautiful.

Punky goodness, Ⅰ have little more to say, a high okay/3.

My favourite album of all time. Ⅰ cannot recommend it enough.

It is a WORLD encapsulated in sound, it starts off ambient enough, it speeds up, it seems like it could be soft indie rock? It goes electronic, it's beautiful.

Similar but infinitely superior vibes to Ceres & Calypso in the Deep Time by Candy Claws, which Ⅰ also love.

The way sounds flow from one into another in this track is something Ⅰ've never heard anywhere else, listening to ground as a river. You don't know where it's going but it works so damn well.

    Great/3
