I don't think anyone is going to deny that [The Moon and Antarctica](https://record.club/releases/albums/modest-mouse-the-moon-antarctica) is the best Modest Mouse album but this album sure is something.

I sent that to li after singing along to this album loudly while walking home from the coffee shop but then I remembered that's basically a review

Back when me and my buddy Mark were on a work term together we swapped iPods for a day to check out each other's music. The only thing I still remember listening to was this album.

He seemed a little surprised when I said this album ruled and included the final track in that opinion. Honestly, and no offence to liars on this, I think the ending might be the best part.

More like the GOAT has returned, am I right?

From one and half listens, this album feels a bit back-heavy as the obvious standouts to me are _Reappearing Rat_ and _Worm_ but it's obviously good. I imagine several more songs will stand out as I have more of a chance to pick out lyrics from them.

Fable Killer feels more like it should be on [Julia With Blue Jeans](https://record.club/releases/albums/moonface-julia-with-blue-jeans-on), which, is an album I like but also very much doesn't feel like Sunset Rubdown to me

me and some friends sometimes joked about making a unicorns cover band called The Horses (not more than horses but at least we exist still).

2014 is a banger. I can promise you it's the last song I listened to in 2013. Emasculate the Masculine is one of the better unicorn X the Ys song.

Absolutely one of my favourite discoveries from the last few years. Was this album perfect for walking to a coffee shop in a light rain? Yes. Is it good when reading a book in bed? Yes. Is it good to work to? Yes. An album of all seasons

This album is very good but I am instead reviewing the life experience of seeing them live score the film at Iceland Airwaves back in... 2017? whatever year this came out.

I had not heard of this band and had also never seen the movie/read the books. My buddy Eric liked the band so we went. It was a transcendent experience. This music is good and it fit the film perfectly. I had been studying French so I could at least mostly read and understand the intercards (also, it's a great movie just fyi). I highly recommend you travel back in time like 7 years and check it out.

The Futureheads were the second band I ever went to see live. They were the second opening act for Hot Hot Heat but me and my buddy Ian were there to see The Futureheads. They played everything on this album and it felt like they played everything like 15% faster. Fun times.

Clangy guitars, harmonized vocals. I kind of feel like the futureheads didn't properly get their due.

Also, I heard this cover of Hounds of Love before hearing the original so in my mind this is the 'real' version. I know that's not right but also it's a real good cover

Oh, apparently we're posting about songs we used as ringtones/alarms today. I used One Heavy February as a ringtone for a while and it was a mistake because it's a great song and it ruined it for me for a while.

I don't know if something both twee and nostalgic was the right thing to listen to when all in my feelings about the impending demise of cohost but it's hard to argue with the fact that this album is great

Legit, this is one of my favourite Modest Mouse songs. It got me to pick up Get Here and Stay. I think it's a great blend of both bands sounds and somehow ends up more spacey and relaxed than I think either band is on their own. I find it almost hypnotic in its looping

As with basically every remix, I find the two on the b side of this single to be, at kindest, unneeded.

What a fantastic album. So full of hope and longing, and with that emotion building to the climax of the album, the back to back of The Shore, where Bulat's powerful voice feels its most ethereal, and then Once More, for the Dollhouse, where it feels on the edge of breaking. Just incredible work to overshadow the title track, which feels like it would otherwise be a shoe-in for best song on the album

I picked this up for Bandcamp Friday basically sound unheard (that's probably the right phrase) because WRWTFWW puts out some good stuff and I liked the cover. I listened to it this morning while cooking and had a good time with it. It's relaxing. To me it feels like the soundtrack to a laid back point-and-click adventure. The tracks each feel like connected but separate spaces and are ambient enough that I could imagine them on loop without them getting grating.

On first listen, Too Much Time and the back to back of 10 O'Clock Ride and Not Home stood out to me. The samples/field recordings did less for me, so Every Day Is Every Day didn't do much… More

Quite simply, and without exaggeration, I think this is the best album that exists. Know that every time I review another album here and sing its praises, I think it simply doesn't compare. I think TNT a perfect album.

It feels like a complete work—it's cohesive. Every song complements its neighbours as it flows between them. No song feels out of place. No note feels out of place. No song is being carried here either. I think Ten-Day Interval and I Set My Face to the Hillside are the standout tracks but I'd be happy to hear any song on this album in isolation. I just don't think that's the way this album shines.
