I always kinda felt like if Primus was loosely like “Hey what if we were actually a technical thrash metal band?” they’d sound similar to Voivod. It’s good thrash. Better than Anthrax that is for sure.
“Prison Song” has such an iconic first note that anyone who grew up during the 2000s will instantly recognize it. It is to me what the first piano note of “Black Parade” is to emo kids.
